Krav Maga
A system of self defence that is both easy to learn and that does not require years of practice or masses of muscle to gain proficiency.

Train To Be A Krav Maga Self Defence Instructor
with The British Academy of Krav Maga.
BAKM is an independent Krav Maga school based in St Johns Wood, London & as such has devised an instructor training programme for those individuals who maybe thinking of teaching Krav Maga themselves.
This training is split into separate days allowing trainee instructors time to both assimilate techniques and consolidate the teaching of those techniques before moving onto the next level of training and teaching.
Advantages of this system of training means that trainee instructors may spread the cost of training with the training itself not impacting too greatly on their regular jobs / lifestyles.
Nominated members of our school are welcome to join the course whilst non-members will have to arrange an assessment of their present martial arts / combative experience directly with the BAKM Chief Instructor prior to being offered a place on the course (you will have to email info@krav-maga.org.uk to arrange this).
Attendance of instructor training is strictly in grade order, with yellow belt instructor training & assessment being the first.

Course Outline & Testing
Each module is designed to help you become more familiar with each belt grade in the sense of not only being able to execute the required techniques automatically but to be able to break these techniques down into clearly understood bites that can then be taught and therefore more easily assimilated.
Techniques are then further explored from the perspective of offering variations from the main curriculum and trying different methods of delivery to class students to maintain student retention & keep them motivated.
Finally, the last day of each training phase (day 3 or 4 depending on grade), consists of an assessment of techniques specific to the grade coupled with a written test and an observation & assessment of your teaching of a class (by prior arrangement) within our school.
After this, & having passed, instructors are then able to teach to the relevant grade achieved.
If a candidate should unfortunately fail an assessment they will be invited to take the instructor training again for free.
Instructor Training Dates 2010
Please note that you must pick 3 or 4 dates for every grade that you wish to train for and on your final day (of each grade) we will assess your techniques specific to that grade & arrange a mutually convenient date for your evening teaching assessment (this takes place within our school).
